Tour Plan :

Day 1: Casablanca – Arrival and City Exploration

Your 8-day Morocco adventure begins the moment you land at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport. Your driver picks you up from the airport and takes you to your hotel. Once you are settled, your first stop is the breathtaking Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world.

Built right on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, this place is truly something special. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and try classic Moroccan food. In the afternoon, take a walk along La Corniche, Casablanca’s beautiful seafront promenade. End the day with dinner and rest up for the journey ahead.

Day 2: Casablanca to Rabat to Chefchaouen

After breakfast, drive to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. The drive takes about two hours. Once in Rabat, you will visit some of the most important landmarks in the country, starting with the magnificent Hassan Tower, a 12th-century minaret that stands tall as a symbol of Moroccan history. Right next to it is the beautifully decorated Mausoleum of Mohammed V, where Morocco’s beloved king rests in peace.

From there, you will explore the Kasbah of the Udayas, a charming old fortress with narrow whitewashed streets, purple flowers, and a peaceful garden overlooking the Bou Regreg River. After a short lunch break, the journey continues north towards Chefchaouen, the famous Blue City nestled in the Rif Mountains. You will arrive in the late afternoon. Check into your riad, take an evening stroll through the blue-painted medina, and enjoy dinner at a rooftop restaurant.

  • Driving distance: Approximately 382 km
  • Driving time: Approximately 6 hours
Day 3: Chefchaouen to Volubilis to Meknes to Fes

Leave Chefchaouen after breakfast and drive to Volubilis, a stunning UNESCO Roman ruin site with well-preserved mosaics and ancient arches. Continue to Meknes to see the grand Bab Mansour Gate and explore the medina over lunch. The day ends in Fes, where you will check into your riad and get some rest. Fes is one of the most historic and fascinating cities in Morocco, and the next day is dedicated entirely to exploring it.

  • Driving distance: Approximately 260 km
  • Driving time: Approximately 4 hours 30 minutes
Day 4: Full Day Guided Tour of Fes

A local guide takes you through Fes el Bali Medina, one of the world’s largest car-free urban areas. Visit the Royal Palace Gate, Al-Qarawiyyin University (founded in 859 AD), the Al-Attarine Madrasa, and the famous Chouara Tanneries. Finish with a visit to the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) and a panoramic view of the medina from a hilltop terrace. Fes is also explored in depth on our 7-day Morocco itinerary from Rabat for those who prefer starting their journey from the capital.

Day 5: Fes to Ifrane to Ziz Valley to Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, head south towards the Sahara. Your first stop is Ifrane, a small and charming mountain town that looks surprisingly European, with its red-roofed houses, clean streets, and pine forests. It is often called the Switzerland of Morocco. Next, you pass through a cedar forest in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you might spot Barbary macaques climbing through the trees. These playful monkeys are always a fun surprise! After a lunch stop somewhere along the way, the landscape slowly starts to open up as you drive through the Ziz Valley, a beautiful stretch of land lined with thousands of palm trees and oasis villages.

As the afternoon turns to evening, you finally arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, you will hop on a camel and ride through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi just in time to catch the most incredible sunset you will ever see. Your guide will take you to your desert camp, where a traditional Berber dinner, a bonfire, and the sound of drums under a sky full of stars are waiting for you.

  • Driving distance: Approximately 500 km
  • Driving time: Approximately 7 hours 30 minutes
Day 6: Merzouga Desert to Rissani to Todra Gorge to Dades Gorge

Wake up early because you do not want to miss the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. The way the golden light slowly spreads across the sand is one of those moments that you will remember forever. After a camp breakfast, you head back to the town of Merzouga by camel or 4×4 vehicle and continue your journey. If it is a market day (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), you can stop at the lively traditional market in Rissani, the ancient heart of the Tafilalet region, where locals gather to buy and sell everything from spices to livestock.

From there, the drive takes you to the stunning Todra Gorge, where towering limestone cliffs rise up to 300 meters on both sides of a narrow canyon. It is an absolutely jaw-dropping place, perfect for photos or a short walk along the river. The day finishes in the Dades Gorge, passing through the Valley of Roses and watching fascinating rock formations known locally as Monkey Fingers. Check into your hotel in the gorge and take a moment to appreciate the dramatic scenery around you.

  • Driving distance: Approximately 310 km
  • Driving time: Approximately 5 hours
Day 7: Dades Gorge to Ouarzazate to Ait Ben Haddou to Marrakech

After breakfast, the road leads you to Ouarzazate, a city with a big nickname: the Hollywood of Africa. And it is easy to see why. Many famous films and TV shows, including parts of Game of Thrones and Gladiator, were filmed here. If you are interested, you can stop at the Atlas Film Studios for a quick look around. The biggest highlight of the day, however, is the visit to Ait Ben Haddou, a breathtaking fortified village made entirely of red earthen clay. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and looks like it belongs in another world. Walking through its ancient alleys and climbing to the top for a panoramic view is truly unforgettable.

After lunch at a local restaurant, the journey crosses over the High Atlas Mountains, with some truly spectacular views along the way. As the sun starts to go down, you arrive in Marrakech. Check into your riad and, if you still have energy, head out to Jemaa el-Fna Square to soak in the lively atmosphere of food stalls, street musicians, and storytellers.

  • Driving distance: Approximately 353 km
  • Driving time: Approximately 6 hours 30 minutes
Day 8: Guided Tour of Marrakech

Your last day in Morocco starts with a guided tour of Marrakech. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the buzzing Jemaa el-Fna Square. Dive into the famous souks to shop for spices, leather, rugs, and handmade crafts. After lunch, stroll through the beautiful Majorelle Garden. In the late afternoon, your driver will transfer you to Marrakech Menara Airport or Casablanca Airport for your departure. A wonderful 8-day journey through Morocco comes to an end.

Things To Consider Before You Go

  • Documents: Carry your passport or a valid ID card with you at all times during the trip.
  • Weather and what to pack: Morocco has many different climates. The coast is mild, the mountains can be cold, and the desert gets very hot during the day but surprisingly cold at night. Pack layers, and make sure to bring warm clothes for the Sahara nights and the Atlas Mountains.
  • Money: The local currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). Euros and US Dollars can be exchanged at banks and exchange offices in most cities. ATMs are also easy to find. It is a good idea to carry some cash for smaller shops and markets.
  • Entrance fees: Entry to certain monuments and attractions is not included in the tour price. These include places like the Hassan II Mosque, the tannery rooftop viewpoints in Fes, and some palaces in Marrakech. Budget a small amount each day for these.
  • Meals: Breakfast and two dinners are covered. For lunches and most dinners, you will pay separately. A good sit-down meal at a local restaurant usually costs around $10–$20 per person.
  • Haggling in the souks: In markets across Morocco, it is completely normal — and expected — to negotiate the price. Start lower than what you are willing to pay and work from there. It is part of the experience.
  • Tipping: Tips are not included in the tour price. If your driver and guides do a great job (and they usually do), a small tip at the end of the trip is a kind and appreciated gesture.
  • Best time to visit: Spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) are the most comfortable times. Summers can be very hot, especially in the desert. Winters can be cold in the mountains.
  • Add-on activities: If you want to add extra experiences, it is possible to arrange a traditional Moroccan hammam (steam bath), a cooking class, quad biking in the desert, or sandboarding on the dunes. Just let us know in advance.

Why Choose This Tour

A lot of tours show you Morocco in a rush. You spend two days in a city, take a few photos, and move on before you have even had time to breathe it all in.

This 8-day tour is different.

It is fully private. The vehicle, the driver, and the guide are all just for you. You stop where you want. You slow down where something catches your eye. You ask questions, try the food, and really experience the places you visit,  not just pass through them.

The route is also thoughtfully planned. You move from the coast to the mountains, from the desert to the valleys, and finally into the heart of Marrakech. Every day feels different. Every landscape looks different. And every city has its own personality.

Whether you are traveling as a couple, a family, or a solo traveler, this tour fits around you. It is flexible, comfortable, and, most importantly, it shows you the real Morocco. Not just the tourist version of it.

On top of that, you travel in a clean, air-conditioned private vehicle, stay in beautiful riads and hotels, and have experienced guides with you every step of the way. You get to focus on enjoying the journey. We handle everything else.

Final Thoughts

This 8-day journey from Casablanca brings together the very best of Morocco in one well-paced trip. From the quiet blue streets of Chefchaouen to the vast golden sands of the Sahara Desert, every stop along the way adds something new and special to the experience.

It is a complete experience that blends comfort, culture, and those quiet little moments you never planned for but always remember. A journey like this does not just show you Morocco. It makes you fall in love with it. And the memories? They go home with you. Safe travels.
