Tour Plan :

Day 1: Rabat

Your Morocco adventure begins right here in Rabat. Most tours skip the capital and rush straight to the bigger cities, but Rabat deserves its time in the spotlight. It is one of Morocco’s four imperial cities and holds centuries of history within its walls.

Start your morning at the Hassan Tower, the unfinished minaret that has become one of Morocco’s most iconic symbols. Right next to it is the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a beautifully crafted royal tomb guarded by soldiers in traditional dress. Head over to the Kasbah of the Udayas, a fortified old quarter perched above the Atlantic. The narrow blue-and-white streets here feel like a quieter version of Chefchaouen, and the views over the river are stunning.

After lunch at a local spot in the medina, make your way to the Chellah, the ancient ruins of a Roman settlement that were later turned into a royal necropolis. It is one of those places that feels a bit forgotten by time, in the best possible way. Spend the evening settling in, resting up, and getting ready for the road ahead.

Day 2: Rabat to Chefchaouen

After a good breakfast at your riad or hotel, it is time to hit the road north. The drive from Rabat to Chefchaouen takes around four hours, but the scenery along the way makes it easy. You will pass through rolling green hills, small Moroccan villages, and the forested slopes of the Rif Mountains.

Arriving in Chefchaouen feels like stepping into a painting. The whole medina is washed in shades of blue, from pale sky to deep cobalt, and the effect is genuinely magical. Check into your riad and then just go for a wander. There is no real plan needed here. Turn down a random alley, find a rooftop café, watch the light change on the walls as the afternoon fades.

The local souks are worth a browse too. Chefchaouen is known for its handwoven wool blankets, leather goods, and locally made crafts. Grab dinner somewhere in the plaza and soak it all in.

  • Driving distance: Approximately 254 km
  • Driving time: Approximately 4 hr
Day 3: Chefchaouen to Fes via Volubilis, Meknes
