Tour Plan

Day 1: Rabat City Tour

Your Morocco journey begins in Rabat, the peaceful capital of the country. The tour begins with a visit to some of the most well-known sites in the city, once you meet your guide.

Start by touring the striking Hassan Tower, an unfinished minaret that has grown to be one of Rabat’s most recognizable landmarks. The stunning Mausoleum of Mohammed V, renowned for its tasteful construction and serene ambiance, is located just next to it.

Afterwards, travel through the Kasbah of the Udayas, a picturesque neighborhood of fortresses with blue and white homes that overlook the Atlantic Ocean. Before spending the night in the city, take an easy path along the Rabat marina to cap off the day.

Day 2: Rabat to Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we drive north toward the Rif Mountains. The journey takes around four to five hours through rolling hills and quiet Moroccan villages.

Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, we check you in and the rest of the day is yours to enjoy. Wander through the famous blue-painted streets of the medina, browse the small craft shops, or sit at a rooftop cafe with a glass of mint tea. Every corner of this town is worth exploring.

Day 3: Chefchaouen to Fes

After breakfast, we head south through the Rif villages toward the northern plains of Morocco.

Our first stop is Volubilis, one of the finest Roman archaeological sites in North Africa. Walk through the ancient streets and admire the remarkably well-preserved floor mosaics dating back to the 3rd century. Next, we continue to Meknes for lunch and a visit to the grand Bab el-Mansour gate and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. We then drive on to Fes, arriving in the evening. Check into your riad and enjoy dinner before a big day ahead.

Day 4: Fes, Full Day Guided Tour

Today is fully dedicated to exploring the magnificent city of Fes with our knowledgeable local guide. We start at the golden gates of the Royal Palace before entering the narrow winding streets of Fes el-Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Our tour takes us through the Al-Attarine Madrasa, Nejjarine Fountain, Al-Qarawiyyin University, and the historic Mellah (Jewish Quarter). The highlight for most visitors is the Chouara Tanneries, looking down at the colorful dyeing vats from above is one of the most striking sights in all of Morocco. We end the day at the Borj Nord fortress for a sweeping panoramic view over the entire medina.

Day 5: Fes to Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

A long but incredibly rewarding day. After breakfast, we drive south toward the Sahara Desert, with several wonderful stops along the way.

We pause in the charming alpine town of Ifrane, then continue through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas where Barbary macaques roam freely. After lunch, we pass through the beautiful palm-lined Ziz Valley before finally reaching the Merzouga Desert in the late afternoon. Your camel is waiting,  we ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset, arrive at your luxury desert camp, and end the evening with a traditional dinner, Berber music, and a sky full of stars.

Day 6: Full Day in the Merzouga Desert

Wake up early to catch a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we spend the day exploring the area around Merzouga. We visit the town of Khamlia to enjoy a live Gnawa music performance, then head off-road to the abandoned Galena mining village of M’Fis. Later, we stop to visit a nomadic family near the dunes, sharing tea and hearing stories of their life in the desert.

In the afternoon, relax at a comfortable riad with a pool, or opt for an exciting quad biking or buggy driving adventure across the dunes before sunset. The Merzouga desert is also a highlight of our 8-day Morocco itinerary from Rabat a great middle-ground between this trip and our shorter tours.

Day 7: Merzouga to Dades Valley

After breakfast, we set off westward along the scenic Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Our first stop is the traditional market in Rissani, a lively and authentic local market open on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

We then continue to the spectacular Todra Gorge, where towering 300-meter canyon walls rise up on either side of a shallow river,  a truly unforgettable sight. After exploring the gorge and enjoying lunch by the river, we drive through the beautiful Dades Valley and arrive at your hotel in Boumalne Dades for the evening.

Day 8: Dades Valley to Marrakech

We proceed to Ouarzazate, the Holy Wood of Africa, after breakfast. We head to the Atlas Studios, where incredible sets of full-scale film productions remain, and then make our way to the Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most beautiful kasbahs in the world, and the location of Game of Thrones and Gladiator, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We have lunch, then in the afternoon we make the beautiful drive across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass into Marrakech in the late afternoon. Arrive at your riad in the center of the medina and spend the first evening of your stay in this colorful city.

Day 9: Marrakech, Full Day Guided City Tour

You have breakfast in your riad, and then our local guide will give you a sightseeing tour of the best attractions in Marrakech. We go to the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the beautifully decorated Ben Youssef Madrassa.

Follow lunch with your afternoon: a quiet walk in the lovely Majorelle Garden or the rabble of the medina souks. During the evening, we move to the square of Jemaa El-Fna. Sit in a rooftop restaurant, get yourself a mint tea, and witness the amazing scene of the street performers, musicians, and food stars illuminating the square at sunset.

Day 10: Departure Transfer

On the last day of your 10-day Moroccan itinerary, we will get you to the Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) where you will be taken to the airport. In case your flight is out of Casablanca, we can transfer you to Mohammed V International airport (CMN) instead, you need to inform us at the time of booking.
